GCET 2018 – DTE Goa will conduct GCET 2018 for admission to undergraduate engineering courses in state engineering colleges in Goa on May 8 & 9, 2018. Application forms will open tentatively in 1st week of April. There will be two sets of GCET 2018 application forms – Form A and Form B. To appear in GCET 2018 candidates have to fill Form A. Before filling the form, candidates must ensure they meet the prescribed eligibility criteria, like age limit and academic qualification. GCET 2018 will include three subjects -physics, chemistry, and mathematics, and the test for each subject will be held separately. The exam duration of each subject is 120 minutes and each paper will have 75 questions. The total marks is 225, and there is no negative making. Candidates who qualify GCET 2018 will have to participate in counselling round, which will start tentatively in 3rd week of June. To participate in GCET 2018 counselling, B.Tech aspirants will have to fill Form B (B1 by B.Arch
candidates). Candidates will be invited for counselling based on their merit rank. The result of GCET 2018 will be declared tentatively in 3rd week of May, 2018. Candidates seeking admission to participating institutes of GCET 2018 are required to fulfill the eligibility criteria of the entrance exam. The important GCET 2018 eligiblity criteria that candidates need to meet are:

Minimum Marks in Qualifying Exam Minimum 45% (40% in case of SC, ST, and OBC candidates) aggregate marks in above subjects.

The exam pattern of GCET (Goa CET) 2018 isn’t yet released by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Goa. Going by previous years’ trends, GCET 2018 is likely to be pen/pencil and paper based test. Candidates will be given Objective Response Sheets (ORS) where they have to mark their answers. Marking scheme 1 mark will be awarded for correct attempt. There is no penalty (negative marking) for wrong attempts.

The candidate is urged to go through the GCET exam pattern 2018 carefully, and take a personal note of its many features. For example, as per exam pattern of GCET 2018,it will be an objective-type test, with no negative marking. This means, even if a candidate doesn’t know the answer to a question, he/she must attempt each and every question.

The syallabus of GCET 2018 will be released by the exam conducting authority and will contain details about the topics and sub-topics that will be covered in the entrance examination.
